This year, McGuire Nuclear Station is celebrating 25 years of operation.  As
part of their anniversary celebration, Duke Energy hosted a Family Day at
McGuire on August 26th, 2006.

Kip and Michele went to the Family Day and took a boat ride on Lake Norman.
Even after living in the Lake Norman area for the past 13 years, this was Kip's
first time being on a boat on this lake.

Lake Norman was created when Duke Power built Cowans Ford Dam.
The dam is right next to McGuire Nuclear Station.
