competition in Murfreesboro, Tennessee
February, 2006

This year, Stacy Westfall was the winner of the competition. Here's a photo of Stacy standing on her horse's back after only 3 hours of training. Most people have to spend months or years training a horse to do this.

World-famous horse trainer Clinton Anderson also gave a lesson on horse training. Clinton was born and raised in Australia where at the age of 6 his family recognized a natural ability with horses and cultivated his interest, buying him his first horse at age 9. In April 2001, Clinton became the first horse trainer to launch a "made-for-TV" weekly training program broadcast on satellite television. It has become the network's most popular equine program.

Clinton does not believe in coddling his horses. If you look closely, you can see that Clinton's horse is dripping in sweat and there is steam pouring off its back.

The One-Armed Bandit also performed at Road to the Horse. Lynn Payne, aka The One Armed Bandit, of Shidler, Oklahoma performs incredible stunts using his horses and wild buffalo. In this photo, the Bandit has ridden his horse on the top of a specially-made horse trailer and is standing on its back.

In this photo, the Bandit has herded a pair of buffalo onto the roof of his horse trailer. Michele said that if she hadn't seen it with her own eyes, she would not have believed it.
All four ladies had a wonderful time at the show which lasted several days, and they all hope to attend the Road to the Horse again next year.
What is the Road to the Horse?
Description Four of the world’s top horse whisperers meet four virtually un-touched young horses. A team of judges watch each clinician demonstrates his unique way of gentling a young horse and preparing it to be ridden. In just three hours together, each horse and rider team will have to negotiate an obstacle course. This is horsemanship at its very best.
